ARLINGTON HEIGHTS – To keep employees safe, State Senator Ann Gillespie (D-Arlington Heights) encouraged employers to learn about the Illinois Department of Labor’s required workplace rights postings.
“Workers must know what rights they have on the job so that their employers can proactively create a safe and healthy workplace,” Gillespie said. “With new health guidelines coming from our public health experts, both employees and employers should know what recourses they can take when the workplace becomes unsafe.”
Employees have rights to protect their physical and financial well-being while on the job. To ensure that they are aware of those rights, The Illinois Department of Labor requires employers to prominently display the following postings:
- Your Rights Under Illinois Employment Laws (all employers)
- Victims’ Economic Security and Safety Act (all employers)
- Job Safety and Health (all public-sector employers)
- Illinois OSHA Reporting (all public-sector employers)
- Federal OSHA Reporting (all private-sector employers)
- Employee Classification Act (all construction contractors who use independent contractors)
- Day and Temporary Labor Service Act (all temporary labor agencies and clients)
